Who Gets the Bread???

You guys did a great job presenting your arguments about why your group should get the bread. So now you get to step into Louis XVI's shoes...Who does he give the bread to? He has both the 2nd and 3rd Estates angry with him for different reasons. If you were Louis, how would you deal with this situation and why? Remember, you're trying to keep things as peaceful as possible in the middle of a financial and economic crisis without literally losing your head.

  1. if it was my choice i would give the bread to one of the people in the 3rd estate because they work the hardest yet still get little money because of all the taxes they pay. also they dont get any benifits like the other estates do

  2. I agree. It should definitely go to the people in the 3rd estate.

But why not just cut the bread in half so everyone gets some?

  4. I think the nobles should get the bread, especially the group of Conar, Pcal, and Croissant. I think the nobles should defiantly get the bread because of there amazing dedication to the king and amazing parties.

  5. From violent threats, to delicious gourmet cheese the noble dream team of Croissant, Conar, and Pcal pwned the competition. You would have to be one dumb king not to give them the bread. Unless you hate your family of course. "If you do not give us the bread we will kill your family", quoted by Croissant. The king replied foolishly to these threats by saying',"I shall have you beheaded." Ya well think about this King Dufus, you can either go to a nice party with fancy gourmet cheese, or you can be assasinated and have you're family murdered. It's your choice. Other nobles constantly degrading the brilliant ideas by the dream team shows an immense amount of jealousy at how well the dream teams presentation was. Degrading there ideas like that is an obvious symptom of being a total noob.

If I were king Louis I would want to keep the blood inside my body so I would be smart, take those threats seriously, and give Croissant, Conar, and Pcal the bread.

  6. in all honesty i think the stone mason (wolf pack) and his side kick viper should get the bread. After all the king is a very greedy person with a strong lack of friends, the only thing that will pleasw him is more spoiling. The stone mason could do that easily with his great palace building skills. I mean unless the king wanted to be a total noob and get round house kicked to the face by viper he should strongly consider giving the stone mason the bread. After all who doesnt wan't to pwn all of france, and live in the biggest palace in the world

  7. I disagree with Conor and Mason's comments, but I agree with Jen's. The people in the 3rd Estate should deffinatly get the bread.Plus if King Louis doesn't give it to somebody in the 3rd Estate he's going to have 98% of the population mad at him.I don't think he would want that.

  8. Well wolf pack the king could totally take your head off your shoulders before viper could round house kick him in the face. And by the way. You're the noob. :)

  12. I agree with Kaitlyn and Jen. I think he should give it to someone in the 3rd Estate because like Kaitlyn said the 3rd Estate makes up 98% of the population and if he gives the bread to them then they will be more loyal to him and will help protect him from the other 2% of royalty and nobles. Also, like Jen said they are the people who work the hardest and pay the most taxes. It would only be fair to give one of them the bread!

  13. The nobles shouldn't get the bread, as they have to pay less money. As for what "Conorf123" said, "Other nobles constantly degrading the brilliant ideas by the dream team shows an immense amount of jealousy at how well the dream teams presentation was," it could also show that the dream team is only that - a dream.

  14. I think that the 3rd estate should get the bread. They work very hard and get don't get much money. Part of the money that they get goes to taxes. Pretty much the only food the 3rd estate eats is bread. The nobles don't deserve the bread because they don't work, but still have the money for bread and other foods.

  15. If I was Louis XVI, I would decide to give the bread to the 3rd Estate. In my opinion they have been the hardest and should deserve to get the bread. Also, most of the people of the 3rd Estate have children to take of they need to support them with as much as they can possbly get with the leftover money from paying the taxes.

  16. If I was put into Louis XVI's shoes, I would definitely give the bread to a group that was part of the Third Estate. I would give it to the Third Estate because they are the worst off in this situation. They get the least money, and still have to pay taxes while the Second and First Estate don't pay anything. The Third Estate works just as hard as everyone else. It's harder for them also to get food that they need because the more important people get the food before them. 98% of the population is made up of the Third Estate, yet they get the least attention, and they are the least liked by everyone.

  17. I agree with Hallie and almost everyone else that the bread should go to one of the groups in the third estate. They work twice as hard as everyone else and don't get a lot money for their work. If they get the bread then they will be more loyal to the king and willing to serve him, and less likely to rebel.98% of the population is made up of the third estate and if the king has 98% of the population against him, that's not good for him.

  18. I also agree that the bread should go to someone in the third estate because the second and first already have some food while the third esate has none and they're 98% of the population and giving the first or second esate the bread would only anger them into possibly revolting

  19. The bread should go to 3rd estate because they do all of the manual labor but there money goes to taxes so they can't buy bread but the nobles and clergy can buy bread

  20. I think that, unless the 1st or 2nd estate is working gruelingly hard, then the 3rd estate should get the bread. It's only fair, what with the other two estates already having money. If you give the bread to the third estate, then it will even out the playing field a bit and it might even help the financial crisis. Each 1st or 2nd estate individual already probably has at least enough bread to feed a whole family of 3rd estate workers. they do not need anymore, therefore, the 3rd estate should get the bread.

  21. I also think that somebody in the 3rd estate should get the bread, because most of them have the hardest lives and work the most. They have to pay lots of taxes which leaves them with very little money to buy food for their families. Also, the 3rd estate does make up 98% of the population of France, and they already aren't very happy with the king... so I kind of think that they would be a little bit more suportive if the king tried to help them out!

  22. I also think that somebody in the 3rd estate should get the bread. Theres more people in the third estate. so by giving them it, you make more happy.

  23. if i was Louis XIV, i would give the bread to the third estate. especially those who cannot afford much bread and are starving becasue they have no money.

  24. I think the third estate should get the bread. That's because they pay more taxes and have less money. So they cant afford bread. While the nobles have more money and can buy their own bread. So everything will be fair throughout the three estates.

  25. If i were the king, I would give the bread to somebody in the third estate because they are most deserving of it. they work the hardest but because of unfair taxes and bad paying jobs they have no money to pay for it. the second estate dont deserve it becuase they live more luxorious and have more rights. for example, they are allowed to hunt. so if they dont get the bread they could always hunt for their food.

  26. I think the people of the third estate should get it, because they are the most hardworking and the least rewarded for things they do, even the children who have to work to help their parents. they could not be any worse off because they are poor and cannot afford to pay for land or anything because they work so hard but receive low pay for food and their land.
